Plant Propagation Holder

| November 2024 |

I decided to experiment with my small wood scraps by creating plant propagation holders rather than the usual coasters. This choice was influenced by having extra test tubes from a previous wall art project. The holders are crafted from a combination of Red Oak, Maple, and Cherry, featuring corner miters that are reinforced with Peruvian Walnut splines for added strength and visual appeal.

Using the table router, I applied a 45° chamfer to all edges to enhance the visual appeal and create the illusion of thinner pieces. The holes were drilled with a Forstner bit on a drill press. The final pieces were sanded to 120 grit and finished with Danish Oil, and rubber feet were added to the bottom for grip.
