Japanese Style Lamp #3
| November 2025 |
This is the last of three Japanese style lamps in this series. This lamp is made from White Oak and keeps the rectangular style of the second lamp but has a simpler shade design with horizontal lines. To allow light to also disperse from the bottom of the lantern, a simple frame, that the 3D printed lamp socket base could be epoxied to, was made for the base instead of a solid piece of wood. Additionally, to keep the cable routed in the center of one side, I quickly modeled and printed a bracket to secure the cord. Unlike the other lamps, there is no rabbit that the shades are resting against. Instead, the lantern panels are friction fit and pushed to be flush with the inside edge of the frame. Top panel is still removeable to provide bulb access and it sits on small ledges. Spray on Matte Rust-Oleum Polyurethane was used for the finish.
