Japanese Style Lamp #1
| September 2025 |
This is one of three Japanese style lamps in this series and has the simplest style. This lamp is made from Pine with a laser cut top and a 3D printed lamp socket. A “handle” protrudes through the top of the lamp to imitate a handle that would have previously been used to carry the lamp. In this case, the “handle,” while functional, is more for aesthetic purposes. The light is diffused through Japanese lantern paper I ordered from Amazon. The lantern paper was adhered to a small rabbit cut into the inside of the lamp frame using stick glue, and the shade itself is removeable to provide easy access to the bulb. Spray on Matte Rust-Oleum Polyurethane was used for the finish.
